Learn the skills needed to operate legally as a door supervisor. Door supervisors are often the first point of contact between many businesses and members of the public. It is important therefore that they are effectively trained and meet legal requirements in what can be a challenging environment.
To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 61 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 44 contact hours (6-days) if self-study is undertaken. If you hold a level3 Emergency First Aid at work RQF qualification valid with 12 months, then you do not need to attend the first day.

Following the completion of this qualification you will be eligible to apply for your SIA licence and start your career in the security industry.

Unit 1: Working in the Private Security Industry | This provides an overview for working in many different licenced security rolls.
Assessments:
1. Written Assessment – Statement Writing,
2. Multiple Choice Question Examination Paper (invigilated).
Unit 2: Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry | Focusing on the rolls and responsibilities of working in licenced establishments.
Assessments:
1. Practical Examination – Demonstrate how to search people and their personal possessions.
2. Practical Assessment – Demonstrate effective use of communication devices.
3. Multiple Choice Question Examination Paper (invigilated).
Unit 3: Application of Conflict Management in the Private Security Industry | Developing your understanding on the different elements of conflict and how to manage them.
Assessments:
1. Q&A – The learner will answer a series of question relating to the module content.
2. Practical Assessment through demonstration and participation in a scenario-based activity.
3. Multiple Choice Question Examination Paper (invigilated).
Unit 4: Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry | Understanding the risks and techniques used for safe use of physical intervention skills.
Assessments:
1. Practical Assessment – Perform each of the techniques listed in the assessment criteria.
2. Q&A – Respond to questions asked by the trainer/assessor to cover the underpinning knowledge of the critical areas of Physical Intervention.
